Dr Matthew Redgewell

Dr Matt grew up in the Yarra Valley on a beef cattle property, where he gained the love of working with animals. After graduating from Billanook College he studied a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne with a Major in Reproductive Zoology. He then went on to complete his Bachelor of Veterinary Science at James Cook University. After graduating as a veterinary surgeon, he worked at Seville Veterinary Clinic for several years, then moved overseas with his wife Andrea and lived and work in the United Kingdom and Sweden in referral hospitals. After returning to Australia Matt came back to Seville Veterinary Clinic, and shortly after with his wife Andrea purchased the practice from Dr Marilyn Price in 2023. Dr Matt and Dr Andrea also recently purchased the practice in Yarra Junction from Dr Don Findlay and have expanded the services and grown to 9 vets across two locations.Qualifications: BSc Bachelor of Science, BVScBachelor of Veterinary Science, MRCVS Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, PgDipEnv Postgraduate diploma Environment (Melb Uni), Certificate in Veterinary Business Management (University of Liverpool)
Special Interests: Dr Matt has developed keen interest in ophthalmology, equine medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Pets: Matt and Andrea share their busy lives with 3 dogs, 8 chickens, 2 calves, 2 horses and multiple sheep!
Their hobby farm is full of life and never-ending fun.Personal Hobbies: Outside of work Matt enjoys spending time with his young family, Tobias, Matilda and Lukas. Where time allows, he is a keen fly fisherman.

Dr Andrea was born and raised in Sweden, she made the big move to Australia to study veterinary science at James Cook University where she met her now husband, Dr Matt Redgewell. Upon graduating they spent a few years working in the Yarra Valley before travelling to Europe for veterinary work. Together they have 3 gorgeous children, Tobias, Matilda and Lukas.Qualifications: BVScBachelor of Veterinary Science, MMSc (Publ.Health) Master of Medical Science in Public Health,PGCertIVTAE Postgraduate certificate IV in Training and Assessment, PgCertOneHealth Postgraduate certificate in One Health, Master of Science in Animal Welfare and Legislation, Leg.Vet. Swedish veterinary certification.
Special Interests: Dr Andrea is passionate about working closely with farms to achieve optimal health for livestock to allow for healthy resources and productivity. Dr Andrea also dedicates a lot of her time to education, teaching, the study and analysis of disease outbreak and biosecurity. She is also an enthusiastic horse rider and enjoys all types of equine medicine. Dr Andrea has also worked at TAFE teaching veterinary nurses and always appreciates a teaching opportunity for any visiting students.
Pets: Matt and Andrea share their busy lives with 3 dogs, 8 chickens, 2 calves, 2 horses and multiple sheep. Andrea is the avid horse rider in the family and now shares this passion with their kids.Personal Hobbies: When Andrea finds the time she enjoys spending time outdoors, working around their family hobby farm, horse riding and travelling the world!

Dr Narelle Stillwell

Dr Narelle's love for animals developed from growing up on hobby farms, where she has owned and cared for a large variety of species both large and small, haired and feathered friends. After graduating high school Narelle completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement and Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science. This led to work in a variety of businesses in a number of roles both at home and overseas, allowing her to extensively travel and experience a number of cultures. These life experiences highlighted her desire to study veterinary science.She graduated from Murdoch University in 2010 and since then moved to the Yarra Valley and has worked in mixed practice, shelter medicine and small animal practice.

Special Interests: Narelle thrives in all aspects of being a veterinarian, from thorough medical consultations and surgical cases, to welcoming new puppies and kittens into their families. Narelle would love to expand her knowledge in traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.
Pets: Narelle’s family hobby farm is home to Hugo the horse, their cat Coco, their very large Pearl who is a Great Dane, many chickens and Guinee fowl and a herd of sheep.Personal Hobbies: When not working as a vet, Narelle divides her time between looking after her young family, running the family business and enjoying their farm, where she can be found in the garden, producing food, tending the animals and creating fun memories with the family.

Dr Tyler Napper-Martinus

Dr Tyler joined Yarra Valley Veterinary Surgery as a New Graduate at the start of 2024, in such a short time Tyler has become an integral part of the veterinary team. Tyler’s love for Veterinary medicine stems from sharing her childhood with a wide range of animals, from cats and dogs, to lambs, chickens and geese! She graduated from University of Melbourne and has always lived in the Eastern suburbs.Qualifications: Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Special Interests: Tyler succeeds in all aspects of being a veterinarian, from medical cases to intricate surgeries. Tyler holds a special interest in feline medicine and surgery.
Pets: Tyler and her partner Phoebe share their home with their two cats Maeve and Malakai.
Personal Hobbies: Tyler is a massive muso and foodie. When she isn’t caring for your loved ones in clinic, Tyler spends her time playing her guitar and piano! Any chance she gets, she’ll put on a record from her collection. Tyler and her partner also enjoy all things food! From making different recipes in their kitchen, to trying new restaurants. Travelling and experiencing different cultures is the absolute ultimate for Tyler and her partner, they are always planning their next trip.

Dr Adele De Kretser

Adele has been an equine and large animal veterinarian since 2012, after graduating from The University of Melbourne. She has worked in equine clinics and hospitals around Victoria and has experience in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine.Qualifications: BVSc Bachelor of Veterinary Science 2011
Special Interests: Adele has a keen interest in advanced veterinary dentistry and works closely with equine dental specialists. Adele also has a special interest in equine medicine, geriatric care, performance horse management, and preventative health care.
Pets: Adele shares her home with Esse a 2-year-old Spoodle. Adele and her son are also the proud owners of Milo the pony, who currently resides at Dr Matt & Dr Andrea’s hobby farm.
Personal Hobbies: When not at work Adele keeps busy with her young son, hiking and camping when she can, and playing cello in a community orchestra

Dr Dominique Marshall

Dr Dom is one of our new graduate vets, who graduated with distinction from the University of Melbourne in 2024. She joined the team in early 2025 after completing rotational placement in her final year of university, we all loved her so much that we simply had to have her on the team!Dom developed her love for animals growing up on a small property in NSW and looking after all sorts of pets including dogs, chickens, rabbits, lambs, cockatiels and budgies.

Special Interests: Being new to the field, Dom is interested in anything and everything!Dom loves working with all kinds of animals and is excited to be working in a mixed practice where she can expand her knowledge and experience in all things veterinary medicine!
Pets: Dom is currently on the hunt for the Purrfect companion to share her home with.
Personal Hobbies: Outside work hours, Dom enjoys reading and being outdoors, hiking or camping with her husband Jordan.

Dr Mike Ambler

Dr. Mike graduated from University of Melbourne with a DVM, having previously obtained his undergraduate degree from La Trobe University. Prior to moving to the Yarra Valley in 2017, he was a small animal nurse and practice manager in Melbourne for several years and is excited about the challenge that mixed practice brings.Qualifications: BAnVetBioSc Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience, DVM Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Special Interests: Dr. Mike is particularly interested in large animal medicine and surgery but also loves small animal practice and has a special interest in diagnostic imaging.
Pets: Dr Mike and his partner share their home with Lily the cat.
Personal Hobbies:
Outside of work Dr. Mike enjoys cooking, keeping fit and exploring the world near and far with his partner. At home he has a very spoilt cat and two alpacas. -
Jess

Jess has been working in the Veterinary industry since 2006 when she started at a local clinic as a kennel hand and started studying Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. After that, she went on to study Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Surgical).
In 2014 Jess moved to a specialist clinic where she did further training in surgery.
Jess started working at Seville Veterinary Clinic in 2020 and has now become the team’s practice manager of both clinics.
The Yarra Valley has been home for Jess since 2000. She is married with two daughters who you may see around the clinic.Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Surgical)
Special Interests: Previously working at a specialist clinic jess has always had a keen eye for surgery.
Jess’s high passion for management helps her oversee daily operations, client relations, and team coordination, ensuring that the clinics run smoothly and efficiently.Pets: Jess and her family share their property with Rusty the Labrador, Popcorn and Tilly two Domestic Shorthair cats, Micky the English Riding Pony and 8 chickens, as you could imagine this keeps them on their toes!
Personal Hobbies: When Jess isn’t in clinic, she loves to spend time in her garden growing beautiful flowers and veggies, she also likes to keep active and often goes for a bike ride with her two girls. Their family enjoys being outdoors on their property and going camping with friends and family.

Charlee started her career as a kennel hand for Marilyn at Seville Veterinary Clinic in 2004. She combined this with an emergency nursing position at Lort Smith Animal Hospital until she continued her career within emergency and critical care.Charlee has always had a passion for exotic pets and large animals. This, combined with growing her family out in the Yarra Valley, made her join the team again to work closer to home. She has been a vital part of growing our Yarra Junction clinic and managed this branch from the beginning.
Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Special Interests: Charlee loves all things surgical nursing and ensuring our patients receive the gold standard care. Charlee has also taken on a management role at our Yarra Junction clinic, where she ensures the day runs smoothly for all.
Pets: The family also consists of dogs and cats, as well as a menage of farm animals on their beautiful 40 acre property.
Personal Hobbies: When Charlee isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and her four children. In any spare time, she may have trips to the high country top the list! -
Claudia

Special Interests: Claudia’s journey in veterinary nursing has been deeply fulfilling, with a particular love for surgery and a thirst for expanding knowledge in the ever-evolving veterinary field. There's nothing quite as fulfilling as the opportunity to be hands-on in a variety of surgeries within our clinic.
Pets: Claudia has a beautiful natured cat called Max, and a beloved Welsh Pony Tyson who keeps her busy.
Personal Hobbies: When Claudia isn’t in clinic, you’ll find her at home experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. She enjoys baking all things, from cakes to sourdough! She also keeps busy with reading, crocheting and sewing. Claudia has treated the team with handmade scrub caps. -

Ash began her journey here with the team as a Placement Student in 2015. Ash made such an impression that we just had to have her join our team on a permanent basis. Ash breezed through her studies and qualified in 2016 from Box Hill Institute.Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Special Interests: Ash has strong passion for medical and hospital nursing. Ash finds that each day presents a new learning experience which allows her to expand her knowledge and expertise in assisting with different hospital patients. From basic health concerns to more complex medical cases, she takes pride in her role in ensuring the well-being of our animal patients throughout their medical journey and stay.
Pets: Ash has two extremely enthusiastic Border Collies Alvin and Maple. Ash also owns a beloved cat, who is very smoochy named Bernie.
Personal Hobbies: In Ash’s spare time you’ll find her gardening, horse riding and spending as much time possible outdoors.

Special Interests: Sophie loves working in surgery and making sure that your loved ones receive the gold standard care when in for procedures. You’ll find Sophie in the ward giving our patients extra special attention.Pets: Sophie is the proud owner of two busy dogs, Lulu the Golden Retriever and Archie the Border Collie, she also shares her time with Lucy the beautiful Russian Blue cat.
Personal Hobbies: In Sophie’s spare time she like getting away to the High-country, she loves all things camping and outdoors and on the trip, she’ll be listening to some country music.

Special Interests: Portia favourite thing about working at our practice is providing animals with a safe and gentle environment while in our care. She prides herself on making animals feel comfortable and loved while being away from home and supporting them when they’re most vulnerable. She also loves building relationships with clients and constantly learning new things about animal care.
Pets: At home Portia keeps busy caring for her mini-Zoo; two crazy Kelpies, Goats, Sheep, a Turtle and a Bearded Dragon
Personal Hobbies: Aside from caring for her menagerie, Portia likes to getaway on camping and 4WD trips.

Cristie has had a love for animals for as long as she can remember. After finishing high school, she went on to complete a Cert IV in hairdressing and once qualifying, quickly realised she had chosen the wrong path.In 2015 Cristie started her certificate IV in Veterinary nursing at Box Hill Institute. She qualified in 2017 and started working at Upper Yarra Veterinary Clinic in 2018. She then became a part of the Yarra Valley Veterinary family in 2023 and hasn’t looked back.

We welcomed Bree to our expanding team in 2023. Bree came to us with a treasure of knowledge in the veterinary industry, having nursed since 2012! Bree spent many years nursing in oncology at a specialist clinic, where her love grew for providing intensive care and gold standard nursing for her patients. Bree then went on to work at a busy general practice clinic before finding her way to our Yarra Junction clinic.Special Interests: Bree enjoys all areas of veterinary nursing from small animals to equine. As one of the friendly faces of our Yarra Junction clinic, Bree plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for both pets and their owners. With a passion for animals and exceptional customer service skills, she ensures that every client interaction is handled with care, professionalism, and efficiency.
Pets: Bree has a beautiful tabby cat called Sadie. She has a love for horses and has always owned and ridden.
Personal Hobbies: Currently Bree’s free time is filled spending time with family including her two children, Hudson and Ruby. Bree is also a passionate pet photographer; she captures the most beautiful photos of loved furry friends for their family to cherish. -
Mikayla

Mik started working with Seville Veterinary Clinic after having the opportunity to be a kennel hand after completing work experience in 2015.
In 2017 she left the clinic to work as a store supervisor at Pet Barn and working at a local dog boarding kennel.The opportunity came to work back at the clinic as a Veterinary Nurse in 2018 and Mik has been here ever since. During this time, she has been running a successful Puppy Pre School-Program, completed Certificate III Animal Studies and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Qualifications: Certificate III Animal Studies and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Special Interests: Mik has a strong interest in animal behaviour, especially in canines. Mik has used this passion to develop a successful puppy pre-school program that she runs weekly in the clinic
Pets: Mik shares her time with her beloved Clydesdale Remi, Bo the German Sheppard and Titten the Domestic Shorthair, and we can’t forget her two budgies!
Personal Hobbies: When Mik isn’t working at the clinic she spends her time with her beautiful daughter Everdina, going 4x4 with her family, and spending time with her animals. Mik is also passionate about rescue and rehoming dogs in need from rural areas in Australia.

Sherri joined the Yarra Valley Veterinary Surgery Team in 2018 as a kennel hand at our Seville clinic, she had no prior experience in a clinic but quickly became our superstar Trainee.
Sherri is currently studying her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing at TAFE Gippsland.Qualifications: Currently studying certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Special Interests: Sherri has a keen interest and passion for Ward nursing where she helps provide treatments to patients in hospital and helps make the patients feel as comfortable as possible during their stay in hospital, giving them little comforts or spending extra time to try make them feel at easealong with communicating and understanding client needs
Pets: Sherri shares her home with two dogs, Olive an American Bulldog and Stumpy the Bull Arab, who keeps her busy!
Personal Hobbies: When she isn’t in clinic, Sherri loves spending time with her son, running and walking her dogs and catching up with friends.

Kimmie is our resident “crazy Staffy lady”. Nursing in small and mixed animal practices since 2009, she has an abundance of knowledge. Kim completed with ease her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2015. After growing up in Cairns QLD, she moved down to Victoria to pursue a career in the Veterinary industry and has been a member of the team since 2021.Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Special Interests: She has a special interest in surgical nursing, holistic health care, behaviour and nutrition.
Pets: Kimmie shares home with her beloved Staffy named Wombi, and very spoilt chooks.
Personal Hobbies: On weekends Kimmie loves to go camping, spend time in the garden, attend music festivals and hang out with her animals for some downtime.

Initially a client of ours, utilising our large animal services Leah joined the team at the start of 2024, coming to us with a wealth of nursing and management experience.
Leah started her nursing career in 2016 working in a busy small animal hospital in the eastern suburbs, where she was exposed to all aspects of small animal nursing. In 2021 her hard work paid off and she took the opportunity to step into a management position and has loved it ever since!Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Special Interests: Leah’s experiences in nursing and management have fueled her passion for managing staff scheduling and rostering to ensure optimal coverage for both clients and clinic operations. Beyond operations and rostering, Leah loves to focus on cultivating a happy and motivated workplace.
Pets: Leah’s family hobby farm is home tofour miniature goats; Zeg, Marvin, Donald and Kevin. They also share their hearts with Bindi the overly excited Koolie who attends work with her husband Tyler daily.
Personal Hobbies: Leah and her husband Tyler have two beautiful girls Hazel and Imogen who keep them very busy! When she finds the time, Leah loves growing Dahlias, working in the veggie patch and spending time outdoors.
